“This is a supportive group of songwriters from all over the US. I signed up at the first MAS meeting I attended. At least 25 people were there, and everyone was so helpful with each song presented for review. Later that week, I submitted a song online (too timid to do it the first night), and member Brad Dunse suggested the two words I needed to tie the song together, making it ready to record. Whether you're looking for a new song title, a hook, chord progression, new arrangement and/or song structure, a rhyme, a great ending line, an idea for your chorus or verse, MAS is a great place to get help. Plus, you'll meet some genuine, like-minded people along the way.”

The Minnesota Association of Songwriters (MAS) currently meets once a month; exceptions are noted below, so please read carefully.
The monthly song review meeting (EXCEPT November and December) starts at 7 pm CT on the LAST WEDNESDAY of the month (with some exceptions; see list below). These meetings will take place in room 202 at McNally Smith College of Music (MSCM), which is located at 19 Exchange Street, directly across from the Fitzgerald Theatre in downtown St. Paul. A municipal parking ramp is available at the northwest corner of Wabasha & Exchange Streets, across the street from (and connected by skyway to) MSCM. In November and December, these meetings will be held on the second Tuesday. These meetings consist of an educational songwriting workshop, followed by song reviews; occasionally, MAS business (like elections, issue discussions, etc.) will also take place. Some time at each meeting is given to Q&A.
If you'd like to have a song reviewed, please remember to bring 15 lyric sheets to share with meeting attendees.
Guests are welcome to attend two meetings and have one song evaluated before being asked to join.
