Radio Airplay
Here are opportunities for members of MAS to get radio airplay.
Minnesota HomeBrew Music Show
Minnesota HomeBrew Music Show airs from 6 - 7 p.m. every Thursday on KSRQ-90.1 FM (a member of AMPERS, the Association of Minnesota Public Educational Radio Stations) out of Thief River Falls, Minnesota. Listeners may also hear MHB online at: www.radionorthland.org. Our mission is to showcase the original works of Minnesota songwriters whether they live in our fine state or not. Both performing and non-performing songwriters are featured, and we regularly play songs by artists from bordering states and provinces in the hope they will move to Minnesota!
The first show of every month is dedicated to the Minnesota Association of Songwriters, and we often play tunes by MAS members throughout the month.
All shows are archived online at PRX.org (Public Radio Exchange) and available for free for replay by any broadcast media. Presently, MHB also airs from 1 - 2 p.m. every Saturday on KKWE-89.9 FM out of Callaway, Minnesota.
Songwriters interested in submitting their original songs may send CD's to:
Northland College
c/o HomeBrew Radio
1101 Highway One East
Thief River Falls, MN 56701
If sent electronically, we prefer songs in .wav format. Since .wav files are generally too large to e-mail, they may be uploaded to our Box.com or Dropbox.com account. For those who can only record in mp3 format, please save them at 320 kbps, then e-mail to: minnesotahomebrew@gmail.com.
All submissions must be FCC-clean (no naughty songs). Songwriters are asked to submit a short bio or steer us to a website. Also, please credit all songwriters!

Greetings, fellow members of MAS!
If you recall, our friend Greg Connor sent us an email about two radio stations, one in Winona and one in Mankato, that were looking for music from Minnesota songwriters. I sent all of my recordings (three CDs and three EPs) to each station, and one responded by asking for an interview. One of the DJs and I had a nice chat on the phone, which they recorded.
Radio station KQAL at Winona State University will simultaneously air and stream that interview at 6 pm CT tomorrow (Wednesday, April 10). The interview includes a few songs from my latest EP release, titled LOVE GROWS. If you miss tomorrow's time slot, you can stream it here anytime after the show airs.
In my 21 years as an MAS member, I’m happy to say that this kind of thing has happened to me dozens of times. Members helping members is one of the great advantages of being involved with a group of people who share your passion for songwriting.
So thank you, Greg, for being a walking, talking, pickin’ & grinnin' source of support! You ARE appreciated!
Regards to all,
Wayne Hamilton
