Song Circles

Just five years ago, in the days before we were all struck by Covid-19, MAS sponsored different kinds of congenial, face-to-face activities, like backyard and city park picnics, gatherings in rented and free indoor spaces, including coffeehouses and music studios. Members shared original and cover tunes with each other and sometimes food and drink was consumed, when available. In general, good times were had by all.

Recently, a few members have decided it was time to bring back those “good old days” in the form of what we once called “SONG CIRCLES”. However, for such a revival to succeed, members will, quite simply, be required to support them by SHOWING UP and PARTICIPATING! Bring your acoustic guitar or electronic keyboard (internal speaker only), take a chair in the circle and play any song (original or cover) of your choosing when it’s your turn to play. Anyone in the circle may play & sing along with you unless you ask them to be silent while you play alone.

PLEASE NOTE:  NO FOOD IS ALLOWED IN PUBLIC LIBRARIES. HOWEVER, COVERED DRINKS ARE ALLOWED. Community centers welcome food and drink in their facilities, as does the 11 Wells venue. Members should purchase refreshments from 11 Wells if they plan to consume them there.

Help Us Find Additional Song Circle Spaces

Our small team is waiting to hear from other spaces, including churches, coffeehouses and breweries. We have asked those other spaces for time on Mondays, Tuesdays or Thursdays once a month so as not to conflict with MAS activities or typical gig times for performing songwriter members
