Terms of Use for MAS Google Groups Internal E-mail List
You may use the MAS Google groups internal member e-mail system to: connect with other MAS members, engage in sharing and discussion of MAS- and relevant songwriting-related subjects, share photos and videos of MAS and personal songwriting activities, and communicate with the officers and the Board of Directors of MAS on organization-related matters.
Mailing list service usage is "opt in" by policy. This means that you must give MAS explicit permission to add your email address to the MAS list.
A MAS list owner is responsible for keeping list member addresses current and active and for managing issues with their list. The MAS list owner is responsible for providing first-level support to list subscribers. This includes assistance with subscribing to and unsubscribing from the list and responding to questions about list policies.
Usage Policies
Messages and articles should be brief and to the point.
Attach a signature to your message. This will guarantee that any peculiarities of mailers which strip header information will not delete the only reference in the message of how people may reach you.
Don't send large files to the MAS mailing list when links to the file will do.
When responding to an individual member, please do not hit “reply-all” to the entire membership. Reply solely to the member you want to reach by clicking “reply”.
MAS list members may not use the MAS Google Groups list to solicit for personal or financial gain, for business purposes or to raise funds. Members may, however, advertise and publicize upcoming songwriting events, performances, and requests to other MAS members of songwriting and original song performing issues.
MAS members may not use the internal MAS group e-mail list to endorse candidates or potential candidates for the election of MAS Officers to the MAS Board.
MAS members may not reproduce 3rd party content to the Google Groups list without the author's expressed approval.
MAS members may not add nonmembers or blind copy individuals to a MAS internal list e-mail.
MAS members may not represent or imply that their opinions represent those of the Minnesota Association of Songwriters.
Use good judgment and be thoughtful about humor and sarcasm.
If you are caught in an argument, keep the discussion focused on issues rather than the personalities involved. Neither post nor respond to incendiary material.
Google Group participants including group administrators and members also agree to provide reasonable assistance at the request of the MAS Board to address any violations of these policies as determined by the MAS Board.
Google Group communications and all users of the site, including group administrators and members, are bound by MAS Terms & Conditions of Use. A violation of these terms and conditions and/or Google Group Guidelines will result in the post being removed. The user who violated the terms or guidelines may potentially lose access to the MAS Google Group platform.
MAS reserves the right to remove inactive members from the MAS Google Groups internal member list who have not paid membership dues for their current dues cycle.
The MAS lists system administrators do not monitor the system for content but will respond to complaints from list users/members if and as necessary.
