Congratulations to all the MAS 2020 Spring Co-Writing Challenge songwriters!
A big thank you goes out to all the participants who rose to the challenge and got their songs done in time! What a treat to see how all the teams approached the challenge topic so differently, but still come out with awesome songs that weren't in this world just a month ago
The challenge was to write a love song with the word “spring” in the title. Some of the writers selected their own co-writer, and some were adventurous and let us pick a writer at random for them.
Here are the results of their creations. Be sure to congratulate them on a job well done! Enjoy…

I've been cold and frozen
Waiting for the sun to shine
Every time I think of you
I wish that you were mine
Winter winds blow hard and cold
And then I think of you
Shades of gray all left behind
Replaced with skies of blue
[Chorus]
Sweet Springtime is coming
Sweet Springtime with you
Rain comes down, rivers running
Flowers come up anew
Promise of love is all I'm thinking
Sweet Springtime with you
You make me laugh, you make me smile
Lifted by the sun
I'm singing love songs like a fool
And I know you’re the only one
[Repeat Chorus]
You know I cannot wait
So, honey, please don’t hesitate
[Tag Ending]
Promise of love is all I'm thinking
Sweet Springtime with you
Promise of love is all I'm thinking
Sweet Springtime with you

As I walked out at dawn one spring,
Smelled lilacs’ sweet perfume,
Heard thrushes and the robins sing
So happy their lovely tunes.
It makes me long for that time
When we held hands and kissed.
The moment when I called you mine,
On that perfect day of bliss.
[Chorus]
Oh Springtime love, Oh Springtime love,
Why wasn’t my love enough?
Oh youth is wasted on the young
Just like our Springtime love
I’m standing in a field of white,
Dandelions blow astray,
I remember when I held you tight,
The night you went away.
Still you haunt me in my dreams,
Someday you’ll be far from my love
But when I sleep your love still beams
Like blue–bells in the sun
[Chorus 2X]
[Tag]
Oh youth is wasted on the young
Just like our Springtime love
Oh youth is wasted on the young
Just like our Springtime love
Just like our Springtime love

Here come those feelings, springtime brings the rain
In your eyes I see it, come to life again
Spring time brings the showers with flowers close behind
You and I together can enjoy the spring time
I feel it building, spending time with you
I can see it blooming, I know you see it too
Spring time brings the showers with flowers close behind
Nothing can be better, than love in the springtime
[Chorus]
When birds be singing with love shining through
The leaves reappearing and all the flowers too
And the bees seek the pollen, and I love you
[Bridge]
Parent and the child, lover and the friend
Knowing that springtime will always come again
My soul has been reborn, when springtime comes a round
It fills me completely, like nothing else I found
Spring time brings the showers with flowers close behind
You and I together, and we’re both doing fine
[Chorus]

Summer fragrance, so delightful, so delightful,
Will it last? Will it last?
Or will it fade away until it's just a
mem'ry from the past, mem'ry from the past?
[Chorus]
When the winter's past, will the fragrance last?
Will our love spring forth from the frozen ground?
Will it last through the seasons of the year?
Will our love spring forth? Will our love spring forth?
Fall colors glow so brightly, oh, so brightly
But I'm so, so distracted,
Aroma of the rose, don't drift away and
scatter in the wind, scatter in the wind.
[Repeat Chorus]
[Instrumental Solo]
Winter brings the snow, will passion falter, will it falter?
Snow and ice. Will it freeze away the passion
or will it last through all the seasons of the year,
seasons of the year?
[Chorus- Altered]
When the winter's past, yes, the fragrance lasts
And our love springs forth from the frozen ground?
It will last through the seasons of the year.
Yes, our love springs forth. Will our love spring forth?

I see the pond outside my picture window
Ducks landing on the water two by two
Robins build their nest up in the willow
Spring is here I can only think of you
[Chorus]
I miss you I want you to be with me
To feel all the wonders love can bring
If we were together I’d be happy
If I had wings I’d fly to you in Spring
I sit alone you are so far away
I watch the clouds sail through the big blue sky
Life is good but I take it day by day
It’s been so long since you told me good bye
[Repeat Chorus]
[Instrumental Break]
Bridge
I’m jealous of the birds and of their freedom
But I know I’m shackled to this life exactly as I am
[Repeat Chorus]

Spring's Love -©2020 Korina Hackert (lyrics) and Doug Millaway – All Rights Reserved
When I see your eyes so bright.
I see the love you have for me.
Like the glow of Spring on a rose.
A diamond glistening on a ring.
You touched my heart with a kiss
A love that I could not resist.
Two birds of a feather flock together
Grasping the depths of our love.
[Chorus]
Spring’s love shines as the dew in morning.
Glistening on the blades of grass.
Shining bright into our hearts
Spring’s love shines, shines so bright.
[Bridge]
It happens fast and lasted long
It took hold like a like a bullet to a gun.
Locked and loaded ready to blow
We loved so hard love wouldn’t Let go.
A glistening heart shines like the sun
Sharing a love that won’t be undone
Sharing a love that won’t be undone
Reaching the depths within our souls
[Chorus 2X]
2020 Summer Co-writing Challenge Just Weeks Away!
This marks the end of the MAS 2020 Spring Co-writing Challenge, but…
There’s good news. If you missed out, or had so much fun participating… we’ll be doing this again in June!
June's co-writing challenge has an interesting and fun twist to it. It has nothing to do with summer, though it could, that will be up to you. But, you'll get a little help from one of country's best songwriters, Jeffrey Steele.
No, Jeff won't be hanging out with us, but… well, you'll just have to see how June's challenge unfolds in a handful of weeks.
More coming on that soon.
