Coming up this month I will be hosting another in-person writing workshop. This time, we will be doing a deep dive into metaphors and similes to enhance our lyric writing. We will talk about what they are and how ubiquitous they are in our favorite songs. Then we will do various exercises to create our own. The hope is that you can leave this workshop with a bunch of new ideas to bring to your song lyrics, and a deeper grasp of how to harness the power of metaphor and simile. Come with some of your favorite song lyrics in mind! Refreshments will be provided.

This workshop will be hosted by Rachel Dunlap at the Shoreview Library in the Book Club Room on Tuesday, May 7th from 6-8pm. I am planning two more live writing workshops this year, in September and November.
