Lyrics:

I Just Can’t Wait May 2025

1.I just can’t wait ‘til the sun goes down
and the stars wander by/ and the
fire flies arise and shine
and that big ol’ moon will
smile on me all night

2. This park and bench still haven’t changed/ from a
night much like this/ When I
knew we’d kissed the final kiss/ and
set our dream a-
sail into the mist.

3. My spouse is gone and the kids are grown./ I don’t
mind if I’m alone./ There’s a
part of me you’ll never know./ The
time we shared was the
best I’ve ever known.

4. I’d give so much just to hear your voice/ and to
hear the things you’d say./ Have you
tell me how your life has changed/ since the
day I left through the
years until today.

Chorus/bridge:
Those paarrting days were sad but true/ I
drowned myself in coffee and I
laughed and cried and about them/ now I
wonder how I ever made it through

5. I’ll say goodnight when the morning comes/ when
all the world is right./ As the
sun shines the way it shines/ I
wish for you but I’ll
wish away my life

6. Next year, this time I’ll be back again/ when the
stars wander by/ when the
fire flies arise and shine/ an’ that
big ol’ moon will
smile on me all night
(repeat melody of final line)

I just can’t wait ‘til the sun goes down

Comments by composer(s):

The unevenness of the recording is due to a lot of cut and past of words phrases and riffs. I am open to any refining comments about the song.
