On The Edge – Version 2 Sheryl Bohlander
Have you ever been …
Frightened by a dream? Well you’re not the only one.
No one said love was easy, when it’s easily undone.
Yes, I’ve loved before, my heart’s been black and blue.
Now I sit home alone, and wonder what do I do?
It started so easy, we met quite by chance.
Small talk and martinis, then you ask me for a dance.
You held out your hand, and I got up to my feet
But when you pulled me close, babe, my heart skipped a beat!
I’m on the edge, the edge of a dream coming true.
Do I turn around and run or take a chance on you?
I’m on the edge, the edge, the edge of a dream.
Could this be real or is it just my fantasy?
Running like the wind, my thoughts have come undone.
I want you near, but step back in fear.
Give you my heart, but stop as I start.
Afraid to give in, but afraid to give up.
Afraid of missing my chance at love.
I’m breathless and anxious, drowsy from lack of sleep.
I’ve got scars on my heart, dreams buried so deep.
And now the armor that once protected me
Lies in pieces on the floor where my tears used to be.
Now what do I do?
I’m on the edge, the edge of a dream coming true.
Do I tell you I love you and would you tell me, too?
I’m on the edge the edge the edge of a dream.
Is this love real? Oh tell me how do you feel?
SHORT INSTRUMENTAL BREAK
Frightened by a dream that suddenly becomes real?
And your world’s turned upside down, that’s how I feel.
Now something tells me – I’ve nothing to fear.
The love that I dreamed of is finally here.
I’m on the edge, the edge of my dream coming true.
Martinis and small talk lead me straight to you.
I’m on the edge the edge the edge of a dream.
Babe, take my hand, set my dream free.
I helped Sheryl create an arrangement using a technique I trecently discovered – Doug
