Lyrics:

Postage Stamp Sky

INTRO
A postage stamp of sky is all I see
through a corner of my boss’s window
A postage stamp glimpse of a life that’s free
From cubicles and restroom keys

CHORUS
I’m out of here
Take my badge, mail my paycheck
This job has drained me dry
It’s a bore and a bust
My life’s waiting for me and
I won’t settle anymore
for a postage stamp sky

VERSE 1
This job never gave me security
No job this lame ever will
It just gives me the chance
To make Starbucks richer
My venti latte’s just a crutch until…

CHORUS
I’m out of here
Take my badge, mail my paycheck
This job has drained me dry
It’s a bore and a bust
My life’s waiting for me and
I won’t settle anymore
for a postage stamp sky

VERSE 2
Where I’ll go there’ll be no necessity
To save my dreams for the night
I’ll splash them with sun
Toss them skyward laughing
Just one last email first to stop and write…

CHORUS
I’m out of here
Take my badge, mail my paycheck
This job has drained me dry
It’s a bore and a bust
My life’s waiting for me and
I won’t settle anymore
for a postage stamp sky

Comments by composer(s):

This is for the 7/2/25 mixer call about using Suno to create demos when you have a lyric and melody already. The worktape is a real rough guitar-vocal with no edits or production (or evident guitar skills LOL). Maybe we could use this song as an example project. [I uploaded a replacement worktape at 3:30 pm. It has "worktape 2" in its filename instead of "worktape 1."]
