Gone Away
I've played in all the nightclubs
I've sang all the sad songs
I'm the man they look at every night
They say you've got a voice
A little talent it'll take you far
but I don't know, where to go
And every night I fall asleep
I see your eyes in my dreams and I know someday
I'll be home
But for now I roam around
I go from town to town and sing my songs of love and of you
Someday we'll be together
I don't know when that'll be but it'll be sooner than you think I'm on my way
Oh and then when I get into your arms and your kisses
And I say that I'll be there forever and a day
I'll hold you and I'll kiss you and I say I'll never leave you
Then the road will call again and I'm gone away
You told me when I first left
The road was gonna be such a long long time
Now I sit here lonely in this run down old hotel and I think I know
What you were trying to say
Cause every night I fall asleep
I see your eyes in my dreams and I know someday
I'll be home
But for now I roam around
I go from town to town and sing my songs of love and of you
Someday we'll be together
I don't know when that'll be but it'll be sooner than you think I'm on my way
Oh and then when I get into your arms and your kisses
And I say that I'll be there forever and a day
I'll hold you and I'll kiss you and I say I'll never leave you
Then the road will call again and I'm gone away
Yea the road will call again and I'm gone away.
