Lyrics:

VACATION © Sheryl Bohlander, 4.16.25
I woke up this morning with a smile on my face.
Opened my eyes, things seemed out of place.
Shook my head to wake up my brain.
Where oh where am I again?

Reached out my hand, didn’t find you there.
Slipped out of bed to find something to wear.
Silk robe on a hook, fuzzies for my feet,
Oh yeah, this place can’t be beat.
Oh how I love how a vacation feels!

Pushed a button to make me a brew.
Then out to the deck to catch the view.
There was my honey, toes in the air,
Strummin’ his guitar, wind blowin’ his hair.

He gave me a wink, said “What took you so long?”
Said “I was dreamin’ that you wrote me a song.”
Sat down beside him, said “play me a tune.”
“Sure thing, babe, I’ll play ‘til noon.”

Looked at my watch to catch the time.
Oh my gosh, it’s half past five!
Sunset time means martinis for two,
Watching the waves and not the news!
Salty air that you can taste, cool breeze … so fine.
Now it’s time to open-air dine!
Oh how I love how a vacation feels!

Now the moon appears and the band’s playin’.
Just like that, we start swayin’
Who cares if there’s sand in our toes,
We’ve long ago given up everyday woes.

The night grows dark, my thoughts go wild.
Said, “Honey, I want to act like a child!”
Stripped off my dress and ran into the sea.
He came runnin’ with a towel after me.

I turned around and laughed, said “Can’t you see,
Honey, under my dress is my ‘bee-kee-nee!”
We’ve had fun in the mornin’ and fun tonight,
Now it’s time to get out of sight!
Oh how I love how a vacation feels!

I know that there is a lot of "feelings" about AI produced songs. The lyrics and melody are mine, but I still don't sing :) so I used Suno to present the song. While my lyrics and melody (sheet music) are copyrighted, the audio with the AI produced music is not.
