WITH JESUS

VERSE 1:
His day began like a typical day – a cup of coffee, a kiss and some toast
Headed out the door, his jacket on, cuz the day seemed a little bit cold
Was a hard working man, loved his family & God, who provided all their needs
With the cost of living, just getting by, put his trust in the one he couldn’t see
Had faith in the One he believed
VERSE 2:
He arrived at the job site, helmet in hand, his lunch pail by his side
Rode the lift to the 21st floor, the sun began to rise
Stepped off at the top, he turned & he stopped – caught by surprise
His life flash before him, that instant he’s gone, never got to say “goodbye”
Never got to say “goodbye”
CHORUS:
Now he’s with Jesus – he was a godly man
But his little boy, don’t understand
Why his daddy’s not there, listenin’ to his prayers
Playin’ catch with him everyday
He’s with Jesus, but that boy will find his way
VERSE 3:
She wakes up in the morning to a quiet house and a longing in her heart
Holds the blanket they shared, his presence remains, though her world is torn apart
But she knows that God is always there, even though he seems so far
Still, the pain persists, she clings to hope, through a slow-healing scar
You see, Jesus knows all about scars.

She knows he’s with Jesus – he was a godly man

At night she prays with her son, wondering, who will provide
His absence, a haunting reminder – that the heartache’s real inside
