He was alright, all on his own,
He had to fight, just to hold his own,
Sitting in the bar, drinking, trying to ease his mind
got into his car, trying to leave it all behind,
remembering the fights, all the drunken nights,
all the things he tried to say.
Trying to keep her home, she left him all alone,
why do things just go that way.
Just a man, he was all alone,
without a friend, he could call his own,
Sitting at the bar, thinking, watching his life go by,
Sitting in his brand new car, not knowing how to cry,
He said, “wait a minute please, won’t you help me please,
won’t you tell me what to do.
Take a look at me, tell me what you see,
I just wish it all was through.
Trying to keep his mind from thinking all the time,
what is he trying to prove.
He was a man, only yesterday,
and now he’s gone, just a lump of clay,
Now he has his peace, now his mind’s at ease,
Now his problems are all through.
