SAYING GOODBYE
By Paul Nye
VERSE 1:
I’m packing up my life, saying goodbye to all my friends
Moving down the road creating memories again
That don’t fade away they just grow old
The next chapter’s been written, but the story’s unfold
CHORUS:
You never outgrow your hometown — it just fits you less each year
And the things you thought you’d die for slowly disappear
Everything is getting smaller in your rear view mirror
I’m saying goodbye to this old town, the future’s getting near
VERSE 2:
Been driving down that highway called Aging Avenue
Time turns like seasons and changes my view
Good memories stay with me and bring peace of mind
Might be leaving this town, but I’m leaving part of me behind
CHORUS:
You never outgrow your hometown — it just fits you less each year
And the things you thought you’d die for slowly disappear
Everything is getting smaller in your rear view mirror
Saying goodbye to this old town, the future’s getting near
BRIDGE:
I’ve walked these floors a thousand times, now boxes line the wall
I tell myself it’s just a move — not a curtain call
But some nights I lie awake and wonder what if I’m wrong
Then morning comes, a voice inside says, “It’s time to move on”
CHORUS:
You never outgrow your hometown — it just fits you less each year
And the things you thought you’d die for slowly disappear
Everything is getting smaller in your rear view mirror
I’m saying goodbye to this old town, the future’s getting near
I’m saying goodbye to this town, the future’s getting near

Change in one word in chorus. "Swore" is being changed to "thought." So the line reads, "The things you thought you'd die for, slowly disappear."
