When you lied to me
I knew that I had to go
Cause faithless love is worthless love
And right now, that seems to be all that you can show
Because you lied to me
I knew it was coming to an end
Everything came crashing down
When you called her just a friend
Well, I've been let down before
I can't take it anymore
It hurts like hell, it hurts like hell
Even more than you can tell
Broke away from your spell
When you lied to me
When you lied to me
Don't cry for me
I know what to do
Relentless life is ahead of me,
It's all because I trusted in you
Because you lied to me
I knew all these things would not last
I know, I know that you loved her once
But that was way in the past
Well, I've been let down before
I can't take it anymore
It hurts like hell, it hurts like hell
Even more than you can tell
Broke away from your spell
When you lied to me
When you lied to me
More than you can tell
Broke away from your spell
When you lied to me
When you lied to me
Vocal by Clare Dove. I wrote this song a while back using just a simple ukulele pattern. Clare is not a Country singer generally speaking, so I asked her to sing with a bit of a Country/Pop sound. Do you think the simplicity of the arrangement is enough?
