Lyrics:

Red White and Blue
[Verse 1]
He said “Why does Grampa’s coffin,
Have that flag across the lid?”
And tell me what the colors mean again,
I said grandpa was a soldier,
When he was young,
The flag reminds us all, he was one,
As for the colors…son
[Chorus]
Red is for the blood that's shed,
Poured out on foreign soil,
White is for the carefree smile,
Soldiers lose at war,
The blue behind the stars is like,
Their courage that won’t fade
And the color of our free skies,
Paid for by the brave,
Just for you,
That's why the red white and blue
[Verse 2]
He turned to his sister,
Said I know somethin' you don't,
She said hush now let the preacher preach his notes,
He looked at me, and when I smiled
He whispered in her ear,
His words were perfectly clear,
I heard him say…
[Chorus]
Red is for the blood that's shed,
Poured out on foreign soil,
White is for the carefree smile,
Soldiers lose at war,
The blue behind the stars is like,
Their courage that won’t fade
And the color of our free skies,
Paid for by the brave,
Just for you,
That's why the red white and blue
[Bridge]
He stood up from the pew,
And walked up to the front,
Said with a salute…
[Chorus 2]
Red is for the blood you shed,
Poured out on foreign soil,
White is for the carefree smile,
Dad said you lost at war,
The blue behind the stars is like,
Your courage that won’t fade
And the color of our free skies,
Paid for by the brave,
Just like you,
That's why the red white and blue
[Chorus]
Red is for the blood that's shed,
Poured out on foreign soil,
White is for the carefree smile,
Soldiers lose at war,
The blue behind the stars is like,
Their courage that won’t fade
And the color of our free skies,
Paid for by the brave,
Just for you,
That's why the red white and blue
[Outro]
That's why the red white and blue,
God bless the red white and blue
