Lyrics:

I couldn’t see the demons you were fighting
No, you kept them locked inside
Looking back, your warning signs were blinding
Should’ve known your smile was just a lie
Never would’ve thought you’d pull the trigger
Thought you’d be the one to pull ahead
Now the memory of that night still lingers
I wish I knew what I could’ve said…

[Chorus]
To make you change your mind
To make you want to stay
I wish you would have spoke up, reached out,
Searched for another way
You know I’ve been in your shoes
And I’d give my last breath
For you to choose
A way to stay

You left behind so many memories
There’s so many more you’ll never see
If you ever thought your life was empty
Know you were all we’d ever need
You would never cause us pain with intention
We just didn’t know what you were going through
We know you’re gone, but we still question
If we had one more chance what would we do…

[Repeat Chorus]

They say “time heals all wounds”
I say that’s a lie
We’ll never get over losing you
So many questions left unanswered
So many tears we have cried
I wonder if we could turn back time
Would you have tried…

[Repeat Chorus]

Comments by composer(s):

Melody & Lyrics are mine, Music & Vocals are AI by SUNO.

I wrote this as a way to cope the night my cousin ended his life. We grew up together and I miss him everyday. I have struggled with my own attempts and battles, and needed these words just as much as he did.
