A Song I Sing in the Darkness
Standing at the window
Staring down the road
Grieving how the years have come and gone
Turning to the future
Trusting it gets better
Pouring all my pain into a song
A song I sing in the darkness
As tears keep falling from my eyes
In a world that seems so heartless
And I can't understand why
I gaze beyond the shadows
Toward the coming dawn
Though I can't see it yet, I know it's near
So I keep looking forward
I know a day will come
When morning fills the world with love to share
I'll sing my song in the darkness
As tears keep falling from my eyes
In a world that seems so heartless
And I can't understand why
I need to leave my lonely window
And seek out hearts that care like mine
It's better not to stay in limbo
But rather let my loving light shine
As I keep singing in the darkness
And tears keep falling from my eyes
Although the world still seems heartless
I'll sing my song to help the world rise
Yes, I'll sing my song to help the world rise.av

This was my submission for the 6th prompt (the picture prompt) in the Facebook Singer-Songwriter Songwriting Challenge this winter. I wrote the words and melody and used Suno to generate stems for me to sing with. So it's my voice, too.
