Shot Down in Minnesota
[Verse 1]
They came to Minnesota
Told to meet a quota
counting human souls
numbers on a roll
Prowling through the neighborhood
Killed Alex Pretti and Renee Good
She just tried to drive away
He helped someone up that day
(Chorus)
Families taken from their homes
Kis crying and alone
Two that stood up brave and strong
Shot down in Minnesota
[Verse 2]
Let me see your papers
Were you waiting to be found?
Helpless and surrounded
Do your neighbors hear the sound
Of jackboots on the ground?
(Chorus)
Families taken from their homes
Kids crying and alone
Two that stood up brave and strong
Shot down in Minnesota
Fear creeps into every school
They were taught to follow rules
That don’t apply to everyone
Tear gas, hand cuffs masks and guns
Pointed at the people of Minnesota
[Bridge)
Will this end in my lifetime?
Can you give me a lifeline?
Please take them away
From Minnesota
Please take them away
From Minnesota
(Chorus)
Families taken from their homes
Kids crying and alone
Two that stood up brave and strong
Shot down in Minnesota
Can this really happen here
Damn this hateful atmosphere
Descending on the state of Minnesota
Please take them away from Minnesota
(Chorus)
Families taken from their homes
Kids crying and alone
Two that stood up brave and strong
Shot down in Minnesota
Shot down in Minnesota
