Sweet Memories

VERSE 1:
We had 30 years of friendship
Formed a strong unspoken bond
Though I know he’s gone forever
It still beckons from the beyond
VERSE 2:
I finally gave up asking why
For someone or something to blame
Trying to find some kind of reason
For things that can not be explained
CHORUS:
All the times I took for granted
Our life stories interlaced
Though I’ll never understand it
Sweet memories can’t be erased
VERSE 3:
I watch the sun rise in the eastern sky
Slowly disappear each night
Eagles fly babies cry
Like nothing’s changed all is right

Loss is something you can’t see
When time has healed the face of grief
It lingers right below the conscious mind
Then will attack you from beneath
