Lyrics:

Today Spins to Yesterday

Verse 1
We ran barefoot chasing endless summer skies
Carefree days, country roads, burger's, shakes and fries
Drive-in movies, secrets shared, around a campfire's glow
Polaroids, teenage dreams thought we'd never outgrow.

Chorus
Today spins to yesterday
Like dust behind a rusty Chevrolet
We wake up watching our children play
We believed our youth would never fade away
The road we're traveling only runs one-way
Today spins, today spins to yesterday

Verse 2
College town, army boots, wedding rings and baby shoes.
Punch a clock, raise our babies, try to pay our dues
Middle age came rolling in, where did all the years go
Gaze in the mirror, that forever-young face don't show

Chorus
Today spins to yesterday
Like dust behind a rusty Chevrolet
We wake up watching our children play
We believed our youth would never fade away
The road we're traveling only runs one-way
Today spins, today spins to yesterday

Bridge
We spent forever chasing tomorrow
Never seeing what we'd lose
Funny how the days crawl by
Then the years don't wait

Chorus
Today spins to yesterday
Like dust behind a rusty Chevrolet
We wake up watching our children play
We believed our youth would never fade away
The road we're traveling only runs one-way
Today spins, today spins to yesterday
Today spins to yesterday

This song is a work in progress.100% human written lyrics and melody. I submitted my song demo and used enhanced Ai tools for vocals and polished instrumentation. I am reasonably happy with "show me" lyrics, but need some suggestions on better chorus melody. Thanks for listening.
