Lyrics:

LIKE A COUNTY GUY

VERSE 1:
Had to move from New York City to the Lone Star State
To this town that’s itty-bitty that the locals call a city
A a northerner outsider I couldn’t get a date

VERSE 2:
Had to learn how to behave in ways women admired
The words of country songs showed me how to get along
They taught me what I should do now my love life is great

CHORUS:
Live like a country guy in my new habitat
Wear Wrangler jeans leather boots and a black cowboy hat
You might call it a disguise
But now I’m living like a country guy

VERSE 3:
I’m in my pickup truck a pretty young thing at my side
Got a dog in the back and a rifle on the rack
Another Saturday night in my dusty Texas town

VERSE 4:
A can of Bud tucked in the holder we’re out for a ride,
She’s cozies up to my shoulder things are startin’ to smolder
Gonna park down by the river watch the sun go down

CHORUS:
Live like a country guy in my new habitat
Wear Wrangler jeans leather boots and a black cowboy hat
You might call it a disguise
But now I’m living like a country guy

BRIDGE:
Yeah I’m a cowboy who’s never sat in a saddle
They call that all hat and no cattle

VERSE 5:
Traded my New York accent for this southern twang
Locked the Saab in the garage bought a red Ram Dodge
Got a dog from the pound my rifle’s never left the truck

VERSE 6:
I shoot pool with all my new friends at the honky tonk saloon
I go line dancin’ ‘cause it leads to sweet romancing
Glad I decided to go country ain’t never going back

CHORUS:
Live like a country guy in my new habitat
Wear Wrangler jeans leather boots and a black cowboy hat
You might call it a disguise
But now I’m living like a country guy
Might be the truth or a lie
But now I’m living like a country guy
